Health Care Settings Wellness
Question: Write about theHealth Care Settingsfor Wellness. Answer: Part of your education includes experiences in different types of healthcare settings (applies to HLTEN401B HLTEN516B). Explain the philosophy of primary health care and the principles of wellness. Primary health refers to the wellbeing of an individual that is achieved by the healing of diseases and promotion of wellness in general. Primary healths main goal is that everyone in a particular community is able to access healthcare. It focuses on health care beyond the traditional practices and advocates for healthcare that can be equally accessed by all individuals irrespective of their gender, races or social class. Wellness occurs when the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of an individual are met as they have an impact on health and wellbeing of that individual. Primary health care and the health measures undertaken are key and promote the wellness of individuals in society (Australian Nursing Federation, 2009). What is the difference between primary health and acute health settings? Acute healthcare refers to the short-term treatment a patient gets due to a severe injury or term of sickness or in the process of recovering from a surgery whereas primary health involves the daily healthcare given and overseen by the healthcare provider who is the first to make contact with the patient. MrAlexopoulos is an 88-year-old man who has migrated from Greece and lives alone. He speaks very Basic English only. In the past year, he has fallen twice at home, once by tripping over a rug and once when he got up to go to the bathroom at night. He has become increasingly afraid of falling again and tends to restrict his activities in the home. He goes out only when accompanied by his son (applies to HLTEN401B HLTEN516). Using the information provided above, outline the biopsychosocial and cultural health care considerations that indicate that Mr. Alexopolous should not live alone in the house. Mr. Alexopoulos should not live alone because he can succumb to depression due to loneliness and at his age, he is very vulnerable to any disease (Australian Government Department of Health, 2013). He is mainly at a risk of stress and illness. Since he migrated from Greece, there can be differences in cultural practices, beliefs, and circumstances that can make him depressed. What aspects of MrAlexopoulos environment need to be assessed (include internal and external)? The external factors of MrAlexopoulos environment that should be assessed include foods; because his eating habits might be poor leading him to be constantly falling , his surroundings, his relationship with other people, drugs taken, the water he drinks, the air he breathes, the activities he indulges in and whether he keeps fit or not. His internal environment will involve factors that cannot be controlled or changed. These factors include the fact that MrAlexopolous is aging; he may be undergoing stress as a result of staying alone, his genetic makeup and also his family tendencies that cannot be altered. Explain specific interventions you would design to ensure MrAlexopoulos safety in his home. I will ensure that Mr.Alexopoulos has a handset with emergency numbers, one of a family member or friend that he can call in case of an emergency and also an emergency number of a health care provider who can be reached easily. I will also ensure that he has can a cane or walker that will aid him while walking in the house and that the rugs on the floor are taped to the floor to prevent them from moving. I will also put rubber mats in the bathtub to ensure that there is no slipping. I will also install grab bars in washrooms to ensure his safety. What allied would health and community services referrals you suggest assisting MrAlexopoulos to maintain his independence? I would ensure that MrAlexopoulos enrolls allied and community referrals that major and deal with strength training with the guidance of a professional, falls prevention with the aid of a healthcare provider, joining planned activity groups as a way of preventing loneliness and also home modification with forms of assessment (Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association,2017). Choose one of the theories listed below and explain how it would apply in one of the following different healthcare settings: Aged Care; Palliative Care; Mental Health or Acute Hospitals (applies to HLTEN401B only.) At the old age, the elderly may not be able to fend for themselves, so its good for them to be provided with the basic needs so as to be healthy. The old people also need company either from family or friends for them to have a sense of belonging and to feel loved and wanted. They should also be listened to so as to feel respected and still important in society. The elderly should also be prevented from abuse and exposure to diseases by offering them safety and also healthcare. Many countries suffer health inequalities, including Australia specifically within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) community. In Western societies, social issues continue to emerge as the gap between those with and those without economic resources grows a. In what ways does an individuals financial status affect their ability to access health resources? An individuals financial status will determine their access to health services. Individuals with low income in Australia go through health problems because of their financial inabilities. For instance, they are not able to access healthcare services more often and when they access it, it is of low quality despite their health issues. Besides, individuals with low income are characterized with low education levels and at times do jobs that do not provide health benefit plans whereas those individuals with high income are provided with medical covers, this brings about variation in access to healthcare between the high and the low-income earners. Therefore, these viewpoints are shaped by the policies of the country that reflect different ideologies in access to healthcare services. List the social determinants that disadvantage people and create health inequalities. In your answer, include the common health inequalities for the ATSI community Some of the social determinants of health that disadvantage minority groups like the ATSI community from accessing healthcare service are the social and economic factors, these factors are distributed among these populations, which influence their ability to access health resources. Discuss the following features of the Australian health care system: (applies to HLTEN401B HLTEN516B). State vs Federal Government allocation of health funds (i.e. what does the State Government fund and what does the Federal Government fund) The federal government funds for those contributions that are made for public health facilities via the Australian Health Care Agreement regardless of whether the funds were provided to territory and State governments for their expenditure on public hospitals. On the other hand, State governments fund for outpatient services and emergency services. Aged Care - including which tier of Government is responsible for this area and the allocation of funds. Include in your answer the accreditation process Aged care is funded and regulate by the government with the support of the Territory and State governments for the community and home care, which are provided by charitable, religious, and community organizations and the local governments (White Hughes, 2013). The funding is through an Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), which was introduced on March 20, 2008, that determines the nature and level of care payments of the individuals in the care homes; this implies that the payments are in accordance with the care needs and individuals with high care needs. The Aged Care package gives a package of care to those individuals with serious care needs but able to live in their homes with the assistance of home care package, these packages are provided in order to ensure the needs of the elderly is taken care of (Australian Human Rights Commission, 2007). Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) PBS is a program introduced by the Australian government to provide subsidized drugs the Australian population as well as foreigners covered by the healthcare agreement. The aim of the PBS is to ensure Australians access a reliable and affordable range of medicines. It all depends on how the topic will fit your subject. If it is a political issue, a socio-economic issue, a social science issue, or any other subject related to current affairs, a good topic for a research paper is one that can be used to explore these topics further. In order to do this, you should choose a subject that you are interested in exploring. Now, if you want to research something of the recent past, then make it related to current affairs. If you want to research something from the future, then research on that topic and then make it a story about the future. But what if you want to write an expository research paper on something of the distant past? Then write an expository research paper on some topic that you would like to talk about, but haven't yet been explored in a study. This could be a t opic that you would like to research further, but hasn't been tackled yet. There are several topics to write an expository research paper on in the current day. Wired for Distraction free essay sample
The use of technology is increasing drastically in todayââ¬â¢s teens and young adults, but what exactly is the combination of cell phones, computers, IPads, and video games doing besides distracting kids from real life? In the article ââ¬Å"Wired for Distractionâ⬠by Dalton Conley, he tells us what technology is doing to our future. He explains what it is doing to our culture and how it is changing it. Also, he explains the different types of memory and which one you use when you are paying attention in school, or when you are distracted. In the article Wired for Distraction, Dalton Conley tells us that kids are always distracted by social media, music, and entertainment from technology. Continuous partial attention is due to that, which is simultaneously paying attention to multiple sources, such as, internet, cell phone, or television. Most kids think that by doing their homework and listening to music they are learning how to multitask. We will write a custom essay sample on Wired for Distraction or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page But a 2009 study found that people who used some sort of electronics scored worse than people who didnââ¬â¢t because people who do are more prone to distracting stimuli than light media multitaskers. Time 56) With multitasking you need to do something that is almost automatic, for example, eating a sandwich. But when you start to do two things that both require cognitive thinking, the quality of your work decreases. For example, walking and talking are both automatic thinking strategies and require little or no thinking. But, when you try doing two things that both require thinking, such as math and English, you cannot do both at the same time. One example of continuous partial attention in my life is when I watch the television instead of listening to my mother when she is talking to me. About a month ago I was watching my favorite show, Ghost Whisperer, when my mom tells me an entire list of chores I need to get done before she gets home, and of course I just nodded my head and agreed. As soon as she walked out of the door a commercial came on and I had no idea what she had said or known where she was going to. I had to call her and ask what she wanted done. That is a perfect example of continuous partial attention, I was so focused on my show that when my mom was talking I only took initiative that she was talking. But, since Iââ¬â¢ve been so busy with school and dance I have no time for T. V. o I get my chores done the first time she asks and I have realized that I focus better on her. Another example of this is when my best friend is on her phone and I am talking to her, she has no recollection of what I said, so I always have to repeat myself. I can be having a very serious conversation with her and sheââ¬â¢ll be texting her boyfriend and that makes me feel very belittled and unimportant to her. Knowing that I donââ¬â¢t have her full attention I will just stop talking and see how long it takes for her to realize it. I can see that she is partially listening to me, and partially paying attention to her social media. Having continuous partial attention can cause relationships to fail and also health problems when you cannot focus on one thing without getting distracted from little objects. If people keep distracting themselves from the real world by the media and electronics weââ¬â¢re going to have a big change in kids and the mentors are not going to know what to do. In my opinion social media in kidsââ¬â¢ lives are changing them into different cultural beings, by having their hopes and dreams in the clouds because their role models, billionaires and rap stars, set the wrong example. For example, a lot of people in my school like the country singer Taylor Swift, they want to be just like her. The fact is that sheââ¬â¢s worked her entire life working hard to be the best singer she can make herself. They canââ¬â¢t just wake up and be a good singer, you have to strive for it. I think people look up to her because they want to be like her, but why would you want to be like someone else when you can shape yourself into being whatever you want? Letââ¬â¢s face it, if you have lived in a small town and never had voice lessons, never played an instrument, how are you ever going to be a famous pop star or rapper, youââ¬â¢re not going to be. You have to work at the things you want they just donââ¬â¢t come to you like the social media makes us believe, that some people just ââ¬Å"have itâ⬠. And this is all caused by parents letting their kids 8 to 18 spend at least 7 hours and 38 minutes a day using entertainment media. (Time 55) Some one in my life who culture changed tremendously is my friend Tyler. He likes the Hip-Hop artist Lilââ¬â¢ Wayne and tries to be exactly like him. Lilââ¬â¢ Wayne is living in a mansion and has billions of money, and he got there by working hard at what he loved, and also by screwing people over. Now, Tyler on the other hand lives in a very small town and lives in an apartment and thinks that sitting by and not doing anything with his dream is going to make him famous. See the dilemma? Social media is bad for peopleââ¬â¢s dreams, we end up in a fantasy world and we donââ¬â¢t know how to return to earth. I think by limiting how long you let your kids have their cell phones, no facebook during school, and no electronics after 9:30 so they can get a good nightââ¬â¢s sleep without any distractions. It is shown that the children of the parents, who drink too much caffeine, that do drugs or drink alcohol when pregnant have challenges in the work field and in school. The same thing occurs when you let kids at a young age have too much technology, their brains not only have trouble understanding, but it effects how their brains absorb new information. (Time 56) The procedural memory is a type of long term memory of how to do basic skills, such as, eat, walk, talk, and play. These things are something you do every day, so they become automatic. This is the part of the brain students use when they are learning, if you are distracted by music, itââ¬â¢s more of a habit so they are not getting the knowledge out of learning. However, the declarative memory is the other type of long term memory and it refers to memories that can be consciously recalled such as facts and knowledge. (Time Wikipedia) An example of someone who uses their procedural memory is my friend Nate, in math class he always listens so his IPod and is constantly asking me questions and has no idea how to do any of the questions the teacher , that just spent an hour explaining, taught us. He learns almost like a habit and doesnââ¬â¢t take anything from the lesson. On the other hand, I donââ¬â¢t listen to music when the teacher is talking and it all seems very simple to me, and that is because Iââ¬â¢m learning with my declarative memory instead of my procedural memory. If Nate would stop using his IPod for three days he would understand better and know how to do the work without asking so many questions. The real question in his article is, should there be limits or should technology be prohibited? Most students in my school believe that they should be able to have their phones whenever they feel because they pay for it, itââ¬â¢s their property. What Iââ¬â¢ve learned from this article is that we should have limits and shouldnââ¬â¢t be able to have our phones at all when we are in school because youââ¬â¢re not allowed to use them in the work area or in college. Logically, itââ¬â¢s breaking the law if you use your phone during work hours, so it should be illegal to use them during school. Itââ¬â¢s the parents jobs to make sure their kids do not take them to school but so many of the parents are failing to raise them correctly that their teachers have to yell at them for it. Teachersââ¬â¢ jobs are not to babysit kids it is to teach them, and when they have social media and entertainment around them they cannot learn. Ethically you should follow the rules and listen to the teacher if they do tell you to put it away, or give it to them if you are using it during learning hours. Your phone in school, for example, is the quickest way to get distracted and is a constant temptation to look at it. I leave my phone in my locker because even if no one is texting me I still look at it, almost like a reaction so Iââ¬â¢m constantly getting distracted. Most kids in high school only look at this from an emotional side and think that theyââ¬â¢re big kids and they can handle it, but even adults struggle with getting distracted. Also, why would you jeopardize your education when it is a necessity in the working world? Kids are heading into a downward spiral by converting their lives over to technology, and changing their way of lives because of social media. My opinion is not to take away technology for good, just to limit the usage of it in families and young kids. The way we need to do that is to set time limits on how long you or kids should be allowed on the internet or on their phones, by taking their phones out of their rooms while theyââ¬â¢re sleeping, and no social media that would set a bad example. You need to be more focused on what your kids are doing, not so much spying on them, but making sure theyââ¬â¢re not over using technology. Also, donââ¬â¢t get too caught up in it to the point that you are too distracted to enjoy life, and donââ¬â¢t abuse it.

Or has the advertisement flooded me with information that makes me experience as though the movie will be another floating-point operation and non deserving my clip? These are all inquiries I ask myself when I start to believe about watching a film. Generally. I donââ¬â¢t take film critic reappraisals into consideration because I have been disappointed several times in the past. but I will listen to what friends have to state about their experience with the film. I enjoy most movies across all genres. I enjoy when the narratives are detailed. and supply a history of the characters. whether through flashbacks or duologue. I prefer comedies to be humorously dark. sarcastic. or dry. : With play or action flicks. I prefer for the supporter to hold some tragic mistakes that lead to their result or triumph to be sweeter or to warrant a better cause than them. I enjoy dialogue-heavy movies with histrions who can portray the character in a manner that makes me believe in them. The recent tally of comic-based films is exhaustively gratifying to me. due to the rich storytelling and deep backstories from the amusing books that the films accompany. Sing those characters given life by histrions that pull off the idiosyncrasies and attitudes helps entrap new fans into the universe of cartoon strips. Science fiction movies pull me in because I have ever been intrigued by the thought that our technological promotion will finally do issues that could take to humanityââ¬â¢s ruin. When I can watch films over and over once more and happen new. interesting subplots or Easter eggs. it makes the experience more rewarding. I do non bask movies with plotlines that do non do sense. make a narrative excessively hard for the medium to interpret decently for the audience. or when films start plotlines but do non see them through. When watching horror movies. slasher movies do non offend my involvement every bit much as psychological or spiritual horror movies do. I try to remain off from the general tally of the factory action movies that come out every summer. that tend to hold the same expression as a batch of other action films. In rare cases. the soundtrack of a movie will turn me off if it does non suit the temper and motion of the movie. This makes them really predictable and unenjoyable to me. I besides find it hard to watch films that are based on books but take excessively many autonomies and do non follow the bookââ¬â¢s plot line. All in all. I enjoy watching films and do so several times a hebdomad if I have the clip. Whether it be new movies or favorites that I have watched many times. it is ever good to get away from world for a short clip and to loosen up. Movies have ever been a good conversation piece for my circle of friends. and are normally what we choose to make when we get together. I find that I have no job sitting down and get downing any film at place to see if it will capture my involvement. but when it comes to paying for a ticket. I am more finical because I do non desire to experience as though I wasted my money.
